Using AI without hiding behind it

I use AI often, but I do not want it to become a way to avoid having a point of view.

What I like about AI is that it speeds up comparison, drafting, synthesis, and iteration. It helps me move through possibilities faster. It helps me test wording. It helps me make structure visible. But it does not remove the need to decide what is true, what matters, and what should stay.

That is the line I keep coming back to. AI can help shape expression. It cannot replace authorship. It can help with range. It cannot decide what should be said with restraint.

Maybe that is why I do not see AI as a break from my earlier work. It feels more like the newest version of the same habit: use the best tool available, but stay responsible for the judgment.
